Volunteering support for our Washington County, Utah, Search and Rescue Team

Dixie SunRise Rotary Club, St. George, Utah has taken upon helping with support for our Volunteer Search and Rescue Team for Washington County, Utah. This is a vast community effort to help the team with equipment and volunteer support from indivuals and businesses. Search and Rescue Teams impact all of our lives. They may be called on to search the mountains, waters, cliffs, with their expert abilities, then provide self sacrifice rescue so that others may live. Our local Rotary group (Dixie Sun Rise) have seen the need to get involved. Our St. George, local Rotary group has taken upon the challenge to organize a community support group to help with the needs of the professional search and rescue team. They are paid nothing for their service, and there expensive equipment, which they provide, for the search and rescue effort, comes out of their own pockets. They need to obtain better equipment, which helps speeds to time of recovery and the ability to do their job. They can't do it all. We as a community has to be aware of this situation and help provide the necassary equipment. Please join in with this effort. Everyone has a talent to bring to the table. It is truely a "Service above Self".
